Nimali Central Serengeti

The Serengeti

Nimali Central Serengeti Location Map

Nimali Central Serengeti is set in the heart of the Serengeti. This luxury tented camp is hidden away, offering both a sense of seclusion in this central part of the National Park as well as a truly authentic safari experience. With breathtaking views over the hills and plains and perfectly situated on the path of the renowned migratory route, it is a place where you can expect the unexpected.

Even when the migration is not passing through, the Makoma Hill area is well known for its vast herds of buffalo and elephants, giraffe and of course many predators. Numerous small hills and kopjes dot the landscape where lions can often be found, warming themselves on the smooth surface of the rocks, and cheetahs and hyenas are also frequently seen.

The lounge and dining tents are wide open to make the very most of the breathtaking views of the Serengeti plains, and are furnished to offer a cosy and relaxing area in which to look through your photographs or read a book.

At the end of the day, when you are swapping stories with your fellow guests around an open fire, this is the time to enjoy a well deserved sundowner under the broad canopy of a large acacia tree with lanterns hanging from every branch, watching as the sun begins to slip beyond the horizon and the stars make their mark in the vast night sky.

Nimali Central Serengeti has only 8 tented suites. The rooms are furnished with a richness of colours, natural woods and lush Persian carpets with large, comfortable beds and a private veranda - perfect for private dining and in-house spa treatments. The deep, colonial planter chairs provide an ideal setting to unwind and sip a chilled glass of wine in the middle of this vast wilderness. To keep cool, the tents have fans and open windows (with mesh) to allow the air to circulate freely during the heat of the day.

Two of the tents can be converted into a family tent with an enclosed, connecting walkway that allows easy access between the tents while maintaining complete privacy.
