Tucked away in the spectacular vastness of the Great Rift Valley on the private 6,400 acre Congreve Conservancy, Mbweha Camp is nestled up against the southern border of Lake Nakuru National Park with beautiful views of the Eburu and Mau Ranges.
Besides daily game drives throughout the beautiful Conservancy and the nearby Lake Nakuru National Park, the area boasts a wealth of activities such as a visit to Lake Elementaita hot springs, the Kariandusi Prehistoric Site or the Menengai crater, as well as trekking on bicycles or hot air ballooning over the magnificent Great Rift Valley.
Lake Nakuru National Park lies in Central Kenya, 140 km north-west of Nairobi. Flamingos (both Greater and Lesser) and other water birds are the major attractions of the area, and the sight of thousands of flamingos together can be one of the most memorable scenes for any visitor.
Visitors also get the opportunity to spot clawless otters and hippos in the lake itself, as well as buffalos, colobus monkeys, elands, steinbok, zebra, dik-dik, impala, and rock hyrax and klipspringer along the cliffs and escarpments. Among the predators found here are lion and leopard.
The Park also has more than 25 black rhinoceros, one of the largest concentrations in the country, plus over 70 white rhinos. There are also a good number of the rare Rothschild's giraffe too.
Ten charming cottages built of lava stone with thatched makuti roofs blend effortlessly into the surroundings. Each cottage features richly textured African materials, rustic en-suite bathrooms and are set back into vegetation.
Indigenous trees like Candelabra Euphobia and yellow barked Acacia separate each of the cottages ensuring the utmost in privacy. It also means that the natural vegetation of the Conservancy is kept intact, which allows for frequent sightings of resident leopard, zebras, buffalos, eland and dik-dik.
All meals and Congreve Conservancy fees are included. Game drives are taken with your private driver-guide. Additional day game drives into the Lake Nakuru National Park can be arranged (the Lake Nakuru National Park fee will be applied per person per drive).
Children of any age are welcome. Rates available on request.
All of the holidays we prepare are tailor-made, but this might give you an idea of how Mbweha Camp can be included in you own dream holiday.
