Cape Town’s cultural centre is on the up and the Mount Nelson Hotel is situated in the heart of the action. But with nine acres of lush garden surrounding the hotel, it’s easy to forget the city outside.
With progress comes construction. And with large-scale construction work being undertaken on a nearby property, guest staying at the hotel currently have to contend with sporadic noise emanating from the building site. Most of the major structural work on this site is complete, but there is still intermittent machine noise. We expect the noise to subside within the next few weeks, once the structural work is complete and the developers turn their attention to the cosmetic details. We have been assured that development will be complete by mid-October 2009.
At Mount Nelson Hotel the biggest luxury is the sense of space. So guests still have the option of retreating to the tranquil Garden Cottage Pool on the other side of the property when peace and quiet is called for…although with so much to do in and around Cape Town most guests are likely to be out and about for most of the day when the contruction work is at it’s peakk
