Singita Sasakwa Lodge

The Serengeti

Singita Sasakwa Lodge Location Map

Singita Sasakwa Lodge is situated in the 340,000 acre Grumeti Private Concession within the Serengeti. Throughout the Great Migration months of June, July and August the area teems with game and in the dry season, after the great herds have departed for greener pastures in the north, the Grumeti River, which runs through the concession, draws in large concentrations of resident wildlife. Elephant, buffalo, giraffe, zebra, gazelle, impala and topi all seek life-sustaining water from the river - so there are fabulous game viewing opportunities all year round.

Guests at Singita also have the opportunity to visit the Environmental Education Centre, which was developed for the young people of the local communities, where you can meet the students and learn about the programme.

Singita’s cellars are home to some of the most sought-after private reserves and vintage wines the continent has to offer. Whether you are a connoisseur or just enjoy the occasional glass of wine, the experienced sommeliers delight in introducing guests to a vast selection of varietals from all over the world.

Sasakwa Lodge is built in the style of an Edwardian manor house. Stone walls, deep verandas, high ceilings, stately furniture, silverware and ornamental pieces complete the look. Accommodation is in luxurious cottages (with a choice of one, 2, 3 or 4 separate bedrooms). Each cottage has a private infinity-edge plunge pool overlooking 'where the land stretches to forever'. The bedrooms with inviting 4 poster beds are beautifully appointed, displaying typical African influences with touches of wood, leather and grass, alongside crisp linens, imported chandeliers and hand-crafted furniture.

For a romantic retreat, the Hillside Suite is a private villa for just two people, offering guests privacy and solitude in an atmosphere of barefoot luxury. Dramatic, frameless glass doors and windows, spacious double-volume interiors, 2 wooden outdoor decks, and a private rim-flow pool all combine to make this an exclusive hideaway.

There is also an expansive swimming pool next to the main house in addition to private infinity pools at each cottage.
