Inzalo Safari Lodge is a luxurious tented haven in the spectacular ‘Big Five’ Welgevonden Game Reserve, a 34,000 hectare malaria-free protected wilderness within the UNESCO Waterberg Biosphere. The surrounding area of Inzalo Safari Lodge is characterised by a diversity of mountainous cliffs, low valleys, open grasslands and ancient red beds that are cleaved and parted by crystal clear streams and rivers. The biodiversity provides an ideal refuge for remarkable wildlife, birds, and unique experiences.
Set off at dawn on a game drive, and perhaps spot lion settling down for the day after their night-time activities. In the afternoon, enjoy a spectacular African sunset with a sundowner in hand and some typical South African snacks to go with it. As the night draws in, you will head out on a peaceful night drive, under breath-taking starry skies in search for the more reclusive nocturnal wildlife.
Each of the lodge’s 5 tented safari suites have been positioned to provide maximum privacy, solitude and breath-taking views. Each suite features a private deck with a splash pool overlooking the Sterkstroom River and en-suite bathrooms with indoor and outdoor showers.
The main lodge is an airy and welcoming retreat, with large open spaces extending onto an expansive deck and a bar area. The décor and design combine modern comforts with rustic charm to create warm and inviting spaces where guests can mingle, dine, enjoy a refreshing drink or simply soak in the spectacular views.

Rates Include
All meals; 2 game drives daily; and gate transfers from Welgevonden Game Reserve East Gate or the Welgevonden Airstrip to/from Inzalo Safari Lodge are included.
Children Policy
Children aged 12 years and older are welcome. Rates available on request. The lodge does not have baby-sitting facilities.
Children are allowed on game drives at the discretion of the Game Ranger.
Directions For Drivers
From Johannesburg: Drive to Pretoria and follow the N1 towards Polokwane. Keep on the N1 for about 170 km and at the Kranskop Toll Plaza, turn off the N1 onto the R33 and head to Modimolle (old Nylstroom). Drive for 10 km to Modimolle and continue through the town staying on the R33/R517. Drive 63 km to Vaalwater and continue through the town, staying on the R517. After 14.2 km from Vaalwater, keep a lookout for the Welgevonden East Gate Sign on the left, and turn onto a dirt road and continue for 11 km to the gate and guard house. Here, the guards will direct you to the secure parking area where an Inzalo Safari Lodge guide will meet you and drive you to the lodge in a game-viewing vehicle.
General Information For Guests
Each of the 5 luxury tented suites have a private viewing deck with plunge pool overlooking the Sterkstroom River.
The tents are all en-suite with a bath, double vanity along with indoor and outdoor showers. They also have air conditioning, a room safe, hair dryer, lounge area, fire place, international plugs and tea/coffee making facilities. In addition, each tent has a mini bar with soft drinks, beers and wine (for own account).
The main area consists of a dining room, bar, lounge, viewing deck and a boma. There is no cell phone reception in the reserve, but you will be able to keep in touch via the Wi-Fi available in the tents and at the lodge.
Activities that are available at Inzalo Safari Lodge include morning and afternoon/night game drives.
Other activities that can be arranged for an additional cost include special game drives (for exclusive use guests only), guided nature walks, on-site bushwalks and visits to see the historic rock art of the San Bushmen.
A laundry service is available (additional cost).
