The 4* Gold Zanzibar is a luxury resort located on the fine white sandy beach of Kendwa, on the north-west coast. The beach is not affected by the tides nor seaweeds, giving calm and clear waters all day.
Kilimanjaro, the main restaurant, sits over 200 guests below the typical Makuti roof style. It offers a lavish buffet for breakfast and lunch, while at dinner the service is a la carte. Gold Restaurant is an evening venue and it boasts a friendly yet elegant character, with an amazing sea view. You can order from the menu a delicious and creative selection of plates based on fresh fish and local Zanzibar spices.
Sultan Bar is the best point to sip on a cocktail and witness a spectacular sunset, or the Ocean Dhow Bar is ideal for those who really can’t leave the beach. Snacks and light meals can be served directly under the parasol, whilst an assorted array of tantalizing tropical drinks awaits you to quench your thirst.
There is also a refreshing swimming-pool which is filled with crystal clear sea water, so very little chlorine is used, a small health club, a spa, and an excursion desk with an exciting tour list of Zanzibar.
The hotel has 5 types of tastefully designed room types, all providing ample space and a relaxing atmosphere.
The Deluxe Garden and Ocean View Rooms are located on the ground or first floor and they overlook either the gardens or the ocean. The larger Beach Suites have a prime location with easy access to the pool and the beach. An opulent touch for the Beach Suites with Pavilions are the private gazebo per suite, the perfect place to read, to relax, to enjoy a rich breakfast or a romantic candle light dinner.
There are also 3 individually styled Beach Villas, which are located directly on the beach with an uninterrupted ocean view. Each villa features 2 bedrooms, a large living room, a wide veranda and a jacuzzi.
Finally, the Jungle Villa also has 2 bedrooms, an open-air living room and a private pool, and is set in a private area in the middle of a tropical garden.

The resort's pool is filled with crystal clear sea water, so very little chlorine is used. The result is a much gentler effect on the skin allowing for a perfect and long-lasting suntan. The saltwater also naturally allows for easier floating and therefore extra comfort while swimming. It features 3 different areas according to the height - a lower part is most suited to children, another is for anyone who wishes to bathe and relax, and a row is reserved for more active swimmers.
Please note that smarter attire is recommended in the evenings.
