AndBeyond Chobe Under Canvas

Chobe National Park

Days 1 - 2: Chobe National Park

AndBeyond Chobe Under Canvas Location Map

Live out the adventure of a lifetime as close to nature as you can get in the relaxing solitude of the African wilderness at AndBeyond Chobe Under Canvas. Comfortable tents with en-suite bathrooms at secluded campsites in the game-rich wilderness of Chobe National Park offer up close and personal encounters with Botswana's wildlife.

Renowned as one of the top wildlife reserves in the world, morning and afternoon game drives explore the game rich landscape of the Park. AndBeyond’s professionally trained guides will ask you about your favourite wildlife and will do their best to ensure that your preferences are met, whether it is tracking a particular species or spending more time enjoying each sighting and getting to know the habits of the animals. They will also tell you about the vegetation of the region and will explain the behaviour of the animals that you come across.

The camp moves to a different site every 5-6 days, ensuring that game drives constantly explore fresh areas.

Tented guest areas create shady spaces to relax in the heat of the day or share a drink with friends in the evening hours, as dishes full of flavour find their way to dining tables. Draw your chair closer to the fire as talk and laughter merge into the starry night, swapping stories meant to last a lifetime.

Five en-suite safari tents form an intimate cluster of warmth and comfort. Tucked in the shade of a dense forest deep in the pristine African bush, a maximum of 10 guests revel in the total isolation of these private wilderness sites.

Steaming hot water in your en-suite bathroom's bucket shower refreshes and revitalises for the day ahead.  Crisp linens and a spacious double bed welcome weary bodies after a long day filled with discovery.

Night time noises filter through canvas walls and well-used animal trails bring unexpected visitors to thrill and delight.  Green shadows on the walls of your tent, faint birdsong filtering through the trees and the sweet fragrance of morning dew on bush vegetation welcome each new day.

AndBeyond Savute Under Canvas

Chobe National Park

Days 3 - 4: Chobe National Park

AndBeyond Savute Under Canvas Location Map

Spend nights under canvas at AndBeyond Savute Under Canvas, close to nature in the Savute corner of the game-rich Chobe National Park, which hosts the annual zebra migration.

Game viewing in Savute is remote and wild. Sizable numbers of elephant bulls are also invariably present at Savute, and the area also supports the greatest concentration of the king of all beasts - the lion.  Other predators, including leopard, cheetah, African wild dog, spotted hyena, black-backed jackal and bat-eared fox may also be encountered, as well as frequent sightings of zebra, wildebeest, buffalo, giraffe, tsessebe and kudu.

As dawn breaks, climb into an open 4x4 safari vehicle with your guide and tracker, and set off through the waking bush.  After a morning spent tracking down wildlife, return to the camp for a hearty bush breakfast. While away the next few hours watching the wonders of the bush directly from your tent's veranda.  Depart on an afternoon game drive as the heat of the day starts to break, before returning back to camp for cocktails around a blazing fire, followed by dinner under the starry African sky.

Carefully positioned as close as possible to the resident game, Savute Under Canvas offers a true African experience. Secluded campsites in the wilderness, where guests can expect to see few other people or vehicles, provide a base for up close and personal adventure and discovery.  The camp moves to a different site every 5-6 days.

Five safari tents with en-suite bathrooms and al fresco hot bucket showers form the basis of each campsite, combining the natural beauty of the breathtaking setting with comfort and personalised service.

AndBeyond Xaranna Okavango Delta Camp

Okavango Delta

Days 5 - 7: Okavango Delta

AndBeyond Xaranna Okavango Delta Camp Location Map

Unobtrusive and constructed to "float" in its secluded location in the clear waters, AndBeyond Xaranna Okavango Delta Camp is superbly located to explore the fascinating and fragile Okavango ecosystem. It is the only camp in a 272,500 hectare concession and is only reachable by boat during the high water season (from May to September).

With very few vehicles sharing the concession, game viewing here is remote and secluded. Sensitive off-road driving practices in 4x4 vehicles out onto the savanna grasslands allow guests to get up close to the area’s exceptional wildlife. Lion, cheetah, leopard and African wild dog share the floodplains with large herds of elephant and buffalo, as well as ostrich, tsessebe and roan antelope. The afternoon drives continue after night, allowing for an opportunity to see the many animals that are more active after sunset, including leopard and serval. Lion also frequently hunt at night and there is always a chance of coming upon them feeding on a kill.

During the high water season, guests can enjoy a safari excursion on a mokoro, gliding silently through the maze like channels and shallow lagoons of the Delta. You will see many animals that feed on the grass and reeds on the palm islands here such as lechwe, sitatunga, elephant, hippo and crocodile. Game viewing is also offered during these months in motorised boats, allowing you to cover more ground and see more of the landscape. Fishing excursions on a 'catch and release' basis can also be arranged. Guided bush walks and helicopter flights are also experiences not to be missed during your stay here.

The overall atmosphere of the camp is cool, light and airy, in keeping with the gentle beauty of its environment.

There are 9 sleek tented suites, made out of canvas and bleached wood to echo the shimmering watery surrounds. The suites have en-suite bathrooms with luxuriant baths as well as indoor and al fresco showers and large private plunge pools. A romantic sala on your private deck provides a contemplative space with a view to either read a book, nap or listen to the birdlife in paradise.

The intimate main guest areas boasts a spacious reading area, perfect for afternoon relaxation. The elevated dining area features shady verandas with mesmerising views leading out onto an open-air boma where exotic candlelit dinners are served beneath the stars.
