Begin your trip in a city centre location in Cape Town where all the city's most celebrated attractions are just a short walk or drive away, then head to the Timbavati Game Reserve for some exciting Big 5 game drives, staying in an authentic tented camp in a natural wilderness environment.
Protea Fire&Ice is situated in Tamboerskloof. During your stay here, enjoy the major attractions in the city (Table Mountain, Robben Island, township tour, Camps Bay, V&A Waterfront, Kirstenbosch Gardens, numerous museums and galleries) and take a day trip down to the Cape Peninsula, stopping on the way back at Boulders Beach which is home to one of only 2 mainland nesting colonies of African penguins in South Africa.
Then you fly across to the Kruger Park for your safari adventure. Shindzela Tented Safari Camp is situated within the Timbavati Private Nature Reserve, part of the Greater Kruger National Park. It is a simple, comfortable and affordable South African bush camp, offering a host of wildlife activities including game drives and walking safaris trails. Each tent has its own deck/porch where you can sit and relax. The camp has an informal, relaxed atmosphere and is alive with warm African hospitality.
At the end of your safari, you will return to Johannesburg Airport by road, giving your opportunity to see more of South Africa before you depart.

Arrive into Cape Town Airport. Collect your luggage then make your way to the Europcar Rental office. Complete the necessary paperwork - you will need to present your driving licence, passport and credit card. The keys to your hire car will then be handed over to you.

Drive into Cape Town to Protea Fire&Ice in Tamboerskloof. A short car journey away, or even walking distance, and guests will find some of the best restaurants, tourist attractions and sights the city has to offer - the beautiful Company Gardens, the buzzy V&A Waterfront, the bustling city centre, Kirstenbosch Botanical Gardens, the cable-way up the mountain and the world-renowned beaches of Camps Bay and Clifton.
Drive back to Cape Town Airport, return your hire car at the Car Rental Returns and check in for your flight to the Kruger National Park. Passengers are advised to check in at least 90 minutes prior to the flight departure time.

You will be met in the airport building by your driver on arrival into Hoedspruit Airport. Once you have collected your luggage you will then be transferred to the Timbavati Game Reserve.
At Shindzela Tented Camp, enjoy daily game drives in an open 4x4 safari vehicle with a knowledgeable ranger and expert tracker and fellow guests. The area is home to over 40 mammal species, including Africa's Big 5 (lion, leopard, rhino, buffalo and elephant). Other game that you may see whilst on your safari include hyena, jackal, giraffe, hippo, wild dog, zebra, kudu and impala, to mention just a few. Over 350 bird species have been recorded in the reserve too.
Timbavati Game Reserve
After you return from your morning game drive you will have time to enjoy breakfast before you are collected and transferred back to Hoedspruit Airport, arriving in time to meet the Safari Link Southern Africa Shuttle Service for the road journey back to Johannesburg Airport.
The service departs Hoedspruit at 11:00 and arrives back at Johannesburg Airport at 18:00 in the evening - so sit back and enjoy the scenery.
