Kinondo Kwetu

The Kenyan Coast

Kinondo Kwetu Location Map

Kinondo Kwetu is a private hideaway, situated right on a beach lapped by the warm Indian Ocean. Although Kinondo Kwetu is the ideal place for simply doing nothing at all, it offers exciting possibilities for all adventurers big and small.

The vast East African reef is there for you to explore, be it scuba diving, snorkelling, or by boat. Try deep-sea fishing. Or learn kite boarding, an exhilarating sport perfectly suited for the southern coast of Kenya.  The lodge has its own PADI center, so if you are thinking of getting a diving certificate, do it at Kinondo Kwetu.  For sailing enthusiasts, the small Kenyan outriggers will give you lots of fun. Or come along on a cruise on one of the traditional dhows. Or go horseback riding, or go on an excursion along the coast to nearby islands and up a river looking for crocodiles.

And if you want to see wildlife, like elephants, giraffes, buffalos, antelopes, and other African animals in the wild, Shimba Hills National Park is only a short drive away.

Trips to Kinondo village or a daytrip into Mombasa will give you the spectrum of life in Kenya, and can be arranged from the lodge also.  Finally, golfers can enjoy a game on the 18-hole course only 15 minutes away.

Offering a range of accommodation, every room and cottage has its own personalized character, as each one is furnished and decorated with Swahili culture handicraft and antiquities. All rooms have fans and mosquito nets.

There are plenty of quiet, beautiful spots where you can retire to spend time by yourself or if you are feeling more sociable, to enjoy the company of fellow guests in the library or in one of the living rooms.

Kinondo Kwetu also offers various spa treatments for the ultimate relaxation.
