Less than 2.5 hours from Durban, Emdoneni Lodge is situated on a small game farm in the heart of Zululand, outside of Hluhluwe, in KwaZulu-Natal. KZN is one of the most fascinating and diverse regions of South Africa and is the ancestral home of the Zulu people, home to the Big 5 of the African bush, and blessed with outstanding scenery and history.
On the farm, you can walk with the wildlife including impala, nyala, grey duiker and other antelope. Birdlife is abundant, making Emdoneni a true nature lovers paradise.
During the day,guests can relax around the swimming pool, or a multitude of excursions can be arranged, including game drives in open vehicles to the Hluhluwe-iMmfolozi Park; visit the Cheetah and Serval Cat Project (including an informative talk about the project and animals by a guide, and view the daily feeding); Zulu cultural village tours; boat trips on Lake St Lucia; and deep sea fishing at Cape Vidal. Guests can of course also self-drive in Hluhluwe-Umfolozi Game Reserve - it is about a 20 minute drive to the Memorial Entrance Gate of the reserve.
Comfortable accommodation is offered in the form of chalets and rondavels, on a dinner, bed and breakfast basis, allowing guests to sample the delights of true South African hospitality and cuisine.
Before and after dinner, join fellow guests for evening drinks around the fire at the boma, and be entertained by Zulu dancing.

From Johannesburg: Take the N2 South, from Johannesburg towards Ermelo, Piet Retief and Pongola. Follow the N2 South ± 120 km from Pongola passing Mkuze and Hluhluwe Village. 10 km past the Hluhluwe turn-off, take the Bushlands turn-off on your left (sign-posted Emdoneni/Bushlands). Turn left off the N2 and follow the Emdoneni signs.
From Durban: Take the N2 North, from Durban. By pass Richards Bay and Mtubatuba. ± 38 km from Mtuba you will find the Bushlands turn-off on your left (sign-posted Emdoneni/Bushlands). Turn left off the N2 and follow the Emdoneni signs.
