Day 1

Arrive into Nairobi's Jomo Kenyatta Airport.

After you have had your passports stamped by the Immigrations Officer, proceed to the Baggage Hall to collect your luggage and then go through Customs and exit the building onto the street outside, where our representative will be waiting to meet you, holding a signboard displaying your name. He will introduce you to your driver and you will then be transferred to Wilson Airport where you will check in and board your flight to Samburu.

Safarilink Flight Number 23: Fly from Wilson Airport (WIL) departing at 10:20 to Samburu/Lewa Downs Airstrip, arriving at 11:30

When you arrive at the Samburu Airstrip your Saruni guide will meet you and transfer you straight to the lodge, or if you are not too tired he will take you on a game drive. Saruni Samburu's 6 luxury villas are open and spacious, heralding spectacular views over Mount Kenya. The lodge is celebrated for its innovative, eco-chic design as well as its Italian-inspired cuisine. Samburu is the only lodge in Kalama Conservancy, bordering Samburu National Reserve, with over 200,000 acres of unspoiled wilderness teeming with wildlife to explore exclusively. Guided by Samburu warriors who are passionate about their land and culture, you learn first-hand about their fascinating customs and gain ancient, local knowledge about the land and animals - a truly authentic safari experience.

3 nights at Saruni Samburu

After lunch you will be taken on a game drive on the Kalama Conservancy, exploring over 200,000 acres of pristine wilderness in total privacy. Enjoy sundowners with a breathtaking view as the sun sets on your first day on safari.

Day 2

Depart today on an early morning game drive into Samburu National Reserve to seek out the Special 5 of Samburu - the reticulated giraffe, the Grevy's zebra, the Beisa oryx, the Somali ostrich and the gerenuk. These are all rare species that occur only in this part of the country. You can also look for well known larger game including elephants, lion and leopard. Stop for a picnic lunch in the bush before heading back to the lodge to relax for the afternoon. Enjoy a complimentary half hour massage upon arriving back at the lodge.

Later on head out on an evening game drive in the Kalama Conservancy, ending with a bush dinner under the stars in the middle of the wilderness and a night drive back to the lodge. The Samburu dancing with the warriors, candles and fire under the vast African skies make this a truly magical experience and one of the highlights of a stay at this magical camp.

The camp is located in the heart of the Masai Mara plains on the border between the Lemek Conservancy and the Mara North Conservancy. Surrounded by a pristine and untouched wilderness, the camp has the most classic Masai Mara setting. Enjoy endless views, fire-lit meals under the vast African sky and guided game drives led by Maasai warriors during your stay here.

Day 5

Enjoy an early morning game drive to look for the big cats and other predators of the Mara, returning to camp for lunch. This afternoon, a game drive will take you to an area where large herds of giraffe can normally be found, followed by dinner back at the lodge and an optional night game drive.
