You have an afternoon and a full day of guided game viewing in the Kruger National Park, and you will be spoilt with sightings of the abundant animal and bird life.
Also marvel at the expansive vistas along the Panorama Route and the unique landscape of the Blyde River Canyon, one of the largest canyons on earth.
Tours departs on selected Tuesdays (all tours in English but dual language German/English commentary is available on some departures), and will depart with a minimum of 2 guests. The tour includes 3 breakfasts; 3 dinners; accommodation; transport; porterage; 1 x early morning open game drive on Day 2; closed vehicle game drives; and sightseeing as specified.
This morning you will be collected from your Johannesburg hotel, and you will head east to the Mpumalanga region and onto your hotel, situated just outside the world-famous Kruger National Park.
The Protea Hotel Kruger Gate is a luxury safari lodge-styled hotel set on the banks of the Sabie River amidst towering indigenous trees, and overlooks the Kruger National Park itself. Your spacious and comfortable en-suite room boasts a private veranda.
After freshening up at the lodge, enter the world famous Kruger National Park and spend the afternoon game viewing in your closed touring vehicle. The park offers some of the best game viewing and wildlife opportunities in the world, including the Big 5. After your game drive, you will return to the lodge for dinner, where you have the option to dine in the stunning open air boma where the the African stars are your ceiling.
Day 2
The day begins with early morning coffee or tea, followed by a thrilling open vehicle game drive (with English speaking game ranger) through the Kruger National Park with pre-packed breakfast. Your guide will endeavour to spoil you with sightings of the Big 5, general game and prolific bird life. You will then return to the lodge for lunch (for own account) and a short siesta. In the afternoon you will journey once again through the magnificent expanses of the Kruger National Park, unrivalled in its diversity of flora and fauna. Enjoy an afternoon of game viewing in your closed touring vehicle pursuing all kinds of wildlife. Return to the lodge for dinner served outdoors by the light of a campfire.
Day 3
Today you will set out to explore the magnificent Panorama Route, one of the most scenic routes in the region, offering glorious views, spectacular landscapes and exquisite waterfalls. Visit majestic sights including God's Window, the Three Rondavels and Blyde River Canyon - the third largest canyon of its kind in the world, Bourke's Luck Potholes and the charming village of Graskop, one of the first gold mining camps in the country. Later in the afternoon you will return to the hotel. Optional (own account) open vehicle game drives are available should you prefer not to join the Panorama Route tour. Return to the lodge for a boma dinner under the light of the stars.
Day 4
After breakfast you will begin the return journey to Johannesburg O.R. Tambo International Airport, arriving at approximately 14:30, where the tour will come to an end.
