Suggested Holiday Itinerary

Cape Town and Madikwe Safari

Summary Of The Route and Costs

Combine a stay at a 5* luxury hotel in arguably one of the best positions on the V&A Waterfront in Cape Town with a tree house safari in the malaria-free Madikwe Game Reserve, one of South Africa's largest game reserves and home to 66 large mammal species including the Big 5 and over 300 resident and migrant bird species.

The Silo Hotel is a magical space towering above the V&A Waterfront surrounded by the natural wonder of South Africa’s Mother City. Above the Zeitz Museum of Contemporary Art Africa (MOCAA), the hotel showcases the very best of Cape Town’s art, cuisine and culture and transforms Cape Town’s skyline at the same time inspiring a new standard in luxury travel.

You will then fly to Johannesburg, where you are met from your flight and transferred to the exclusive departure lounge for FedAir, who will be flying you across to Madikwe. The lounge serves a selection of complimentary hot beverages and cold soft drinks, as well as sandwiches, fruit and other snacks while you are waiting to board your light aircraft.

Upon landing at Madikwe's airstrip you will be met and transferred to Jaci's Tree Lodge, where you will stay for 4 nights in a luxury tree house that seems to float high above the ground. This malaria-free reserve is home to not only the Big 5 but a whole host of incredible wildlife, including African wild dogs. Covering some 75,000 hectares, Madikwe is one of the largest game reserves in South Africa.

After your safari, you will fly back to Johannesburg where you will check in for your flight home.

Summary Of The Itinerary

Holiday Title: Cape Town and Madikwe Safari

Countries Visited: South Africa

Day 1

Arrive into Cape Town Airport. Upon landing, you will be welcomed at the aircraft by a security approved airside supplier. If the aircraft is parked against the terminal building, you will be met at the sky bridge; if the aircraft is parked away from the airport building then you will be met at the entrance of the airport building. You will then be escorted to Immigration and onto the correct baggage carousel to collect your luggage. Finally, you will be accompanied through Customs and into the arrivals terminal, where a Guest Service Officer will be waiting to welcome you to South Africa and then introduce you to your transfer driver.

You will then be transferred to The Silo.

The Silo is an extraordinary 5* hotel in Cape Town's V&A Waterfront and sets a new standard for luxury Cape Town accommodation. It is truly a celebration of art, style, architecture and design. Each room has been individually designed and decorated by the stylish wand of Liz Biden and colourful and eclectic pieces juxtapose the modern, industrial architecture. Each room also has a private balcony and a unique collection of contemporary African art.

Day 3

Today is the day for something a little different! Relax in the sidecar of a classic 750cc motorcycle and take in the spectacular scenic beauty of the False Bay coastline whilst travelling through picturesque seaside villages. Whale spotting during calving season (July to November) is a highlight and dolphins may be seen year-round. You will also visit the Harold Porter Botanical Gardens, located between the mountains and the sea, in the heart of the Cape Fynbos region and visit the endangered African Penguin Colony at Stony Point, before enjoying lunch at a small, vibrant restaurant. Return to Cape Town via a visit to either a local craft brewery offering a wide range of exceptional beers or a wine estate, steeped in tradition and recognized for producing world-class wines.
