Guests are able to gain an insight into authentic village life by taking part in a tour of Sabi Sabi's neighbouring
communities during their stay. Homes, schools and community/care centres participate in the tour and the proceeds from the fee levied to guests all go directly back to the community. Many of the places visited have links to Sabi Sabi either through staff family members working or living there, or having been supported by the company over many years. Entertainment groups (singers, drummers and traditional dancers) from neighbouring villages are regular performers at Sabi Sabi – a further example of the company's commitment to supporting local communities. A favourite stop on the tour is the local "sangoma" (traditional healer) who enjoys special stature in village life and is regularly called on for advice, healing and blessings. At each stop, guests are welcome to take photographs to cement the memories of an enriching and enlightening visit. The tour is available for a minimum of 4 guests up to 18 guests. Please contact the main Lodge Reception on arrival for further details and costs.

A Guest Conservation Contribution has been included within your rate. The proceeds go towards the Sabi Sand Wildtuin anti-poaching efforts, the community and ecology.

Bush Walks / Walking Safaris

Children under the age of 12 years are not permitted on guided walks in the reserve. A guided walk can last a couple of hours and involve walking over uneven terrain that may contain dangerous wildlife in potentially high temperatures. Regardless of age, the final decision on whether a guest can join a guided walk remains with the guide and lodge manager.
