The Serengeti

Ubuntu Camp (North) Location Map

Ubuntu Camp (North) is a small and traditional canvas safari camp. From late July to October only, Ubuntu is positioned to intercept the Great Migration in the northern Serengeti as the herds make their way towards Kenya and the Masai Mara. With their unwavering focus on keeping pace with the migration, Ubuntu's guides have an enviable reputation for bringing this remarkable natural phenomenon to life. Daily game drives stop regularly at the Mara River to observe the spectacular river crossings across waters populated with Nile crocodiles and hippo, providing dramatic and exciting game viewing.

The northern plains are also home to large herds of resident plains game throughout the year - this draws high numbers of predators, and so sightings of lion, leopard and cheetah roaming the grasslands are frequent. Herds of elephant can be found in the lush woodland that lines the Mara River as well as an astounding array of birdlife, with over 500 species in the area.

The camp is designed to give you a wild and authentic Serengeti safari experience balanced with a luxurious and comfortable experience. With just 7 en-suite tents to look after, the close-knit team of warm Tanzanians ensure that hospitality, great food and a wonderfully relaxed environment remains the essence of Ubuntu Camp.

In the evening, guests gravitate towards the campfire to reflect on the day's adventures and share stories. Later, all guests sit around a big communal dining table under the Serengeti stars and enjoy a delicious dinner few would imagine possible in the middle of the wilderness.
