The Residence Mauritius is situated on the east coast of Mauritius along a mile-long beach of immaculate white sand, fringed by the azure Indian Ocean and tropical gardens. Inspired by the island’s stately turn-of-the-century plantation houses, this luxury resort blends modern elegance with classic, colonial style.
The hotel prides itself on its cuisine, where native produce of the island is blended with a diversity of fine recipes from around the world offering a symphony of subtle aromas, tastes and colours which can be savoured in the hotel's three restaurants, pool-side bar and lounge bar.
There is certainly no shortage of things to do at The Residence, and the hotel boasts some of the best fishing and diving in Mauritius. Complimentary watersports include water skiing, wind surfing, Hobie Cat, Glass bottom boat, paddle boat and, of course,snorkelling. Deep sea fishing, a catamaran cruise, and scuba diving are all available at an additional cost.
The Residence Mauritius offers 135 rooms and 28 suites which are all decorated with an understated elegance that recalls the magnificence and splendour of yesteryear's palaces. To complete the picture, a butler is assigned to each suite and room and will unpack and pack the luggage, run a bath, take care of the laundry and provide an ironing service for guests checking-in.
The rooms and suites all have beautiful white shutters, and these filter the sun and create a changing pattern of light and dark over the muted colour-scheme of white and delicate shades of beige.
The rooms all a generous 54m² to 58m² and have a king size or twin beds, air-conditioning, overhead fan, desk, living area, LCD TV Satellite TV, DVD and CD player, Internet access, a fully stocked personal mini bar, tea and coffee facilities and a direct dial telephone with voice mail. The large marble bathroom is equipped with a separate bathtub and shower cabin, a hairdryer, sound system and a walk-in wardrobe with an electronic safe.
The suites start from 86 m2 and go up to 164 m2, and in addition to alll the features offered by the rooms the suites all offer a seperate living area or living room and private terrace.

The Plantation is located by the beachfront and is renowned for its seafood and Creole cuisine (open from 12:00 to 15:00 and 19:30 till 10:30).
The bar is open from 10:30 till midnight and offers traditional afternoon tea or cocktails in the evening.
The dress code at The Dining Room and The Plantation is smart casual (no shorts, sleeveless shirts, t-shirts, sandals and flip flops are allowed).
The Sanctuary Spa offers a variety of different massages and custom-made treatments (open from 08:00 to 20:00).
