Tarangire Safari Lodge

Tarangire National Park

Tarangire Safari Lodge Location Map

Tarangire Safari Lodge is situated in the heart of Tarangire National Park, and boasts one of Tanzania's most spectacular views, encompassing acacias and baobabs, plentiful wildlife and the Tarangire river.

The river flows through the Park and is a magnet for wildlife all year around, especially large populations of elephant. It is estimated that the Park is home to the largest elephant population in northern Tanzania and the numbers are rapidly increasing by an estimated 6% per year.  Some elephant herds can be as large as 600 strong. The Park also contains varied and contrasting landscapes and unrivalled birdlife.

The main lodge area hosts the open-air lounge and dining areas. The open-air design allows for an uninterrupted landscape view and captures the cooling breeze.

Between game drives, guests can relax in the large, comfortable lounge, enjoy a refreshing swim in the pool, or unwind with a relaxing massage.

Accommodation at Tarangire Safari Lodge is in either a traditional canvas safari tent or a stone bungalow, with all rooms having a direct valley view.

The 35 tents are sturdy and comfortable - built on a solid base, with a thatched roof, screened windows with large curtains and en-suite bathrooms with solar heated showers. Each tent has a comfortable verandah, ideal for bird and game viewing or reading your favourite book after a dusty safari.

The 5 bungalows are built from local stone in the circular style of Masai huts. The thick walls, large windows and thatched roofs ensure that they remain cool, and the en-suite bathrooms include a shower and plenty of solar heated water.

Lunch and dinner are buffet style with a varied selection of soups, salads, hot and cold dishes, and dinner by candlelight is the ideal way to end your day.
