Thornybush Game Reserve
Set on the banks of the seasonal Timbavati River in the Thornybush Nature Reserve, Siviti offers you a truly personalised, secluded wilderness experience - a seamless blend of Big Five encounters and 5* luxury that restores body and soul.
The day starts as dawn breaks over the African bushveld. After an early morning wakeup call, coffee, tea and rusks are served on the main deck. Shortly after, depart in an open Land Rover with an experienced field guide and tracker team who will share their extensive knowledge of the bush. These drives are undertaken at times best suited for game viewing which vary depending on the season but typically start early morning. The afternoon game drive extends into the evening to view seldom seen nocturnal species by torchlight.
Guests are also offered a bush walk after breakfast, to suit their interests and fitness levels, accompanied by an armed ranger and tracker. Walks allow guests a better chance to see some of the smaller creatures of the bush as well as an opportunity to learn more about the flora and fauna of the region and to have a chance to follow tracks in more detail.
Accommodation in the main lodge is limited to just 18 guests in 7 high-lofted, air-conditioned thatched suites, and one Villa. Each suite is discreetly positioned, with its own elevated viewing deck and private plunge pool to ensure a unique and private bush experience. The Villa has 2 suites, each with it’s own bathroom and lounge, separated by a communal lounge and dining area and connected by a raised boardwalk.
Additionally the seperate, family friendly Homestead accommodates a group or family of up to 8 in a completely separate, free standing house with private game drive vehicle and kitchen/butler team. With spacious accommodation, elegantly appointed living spaces, and luxury amenities, the Timbavati Homestead is designed to be your home away from home.
Guests staying at the Homestead can visit the Main Lodge, however they must be escorted by a member of staff.
