Thornybush Game Reserve

Saseka Tented Camp Location Map

Saseka Tented Camp is located on the banks of the seasonal Monwana Riverbed in the north-eastern portion of the Big 5 game rich Thornybush Nature Reserve, adjacent to the greater Kruger National Park.

Saseka Tented Camp combines natural, sustainable architecture with cutting-edge design, where privacy and comfort are assured.

The day starts as dawn breaks over the African bushveld. After an early morning wake-up call, coffee, tea and rusks are served on the main deck. Shortly after, you will depart in an open Land Cruiser with experienced professional field guides assisted by a skilful tracker, who will ensure that you have a safari experience that is rich, rewarding and unforgettable. Each vehicle seats 6 people only.

After a sumptuous breakfast is served either back at the camp, the riverbed or in the bush, guests are offered the chance to go on a bush walk with an armed ranger and tracker. Tailoring the walk to suit your interests and fitness levels, this will allow you to see some of the smaller creatures, as well as an opportunity to learn more about the flora and fauna of the region, and to follow tracks in more detail.

The camp comprises of 9 luxurious tented rooms, each sleeping 2 people. Solid stacking glass spans the length of each tent, guaranteeing spectacular views of the bush, be it from the bedroom or bathroom. The large private wooden-deck features an outdoor shower, as well as a splash pool and large comfortable deck chairs to bask in the African sun.

The camps main area is a combination of wood and stone cladding, blending naturally into the surrounding environment, and has both an upper and lower-deck area, perfect for a spectacular dining experience or just relaxing. The tranquil water feature is surrounded by large dual fire places, and there is also an intimate curio shop.

For families or small groups, there is also the breath-taking Leadwood Villa. Separate from the rest of the lodge, the villa accommodates 4 adults and 2 children in 2 separate rooms, with a central entertainment area featuring a lounge and dining area for private meals. The large outdoor deck has a splash pool with pool loungers, for ultimate privacy and relaxation. The Villa also comes with its own private vehicle and ranger for game drives.
