Roho Ya Selous

Selous Game Reserve

Roho Ya Selous Location Map

Set on a small peninsula overlooking a key waterway where pods of hippos wallow and fish eagles perch on branches, Roho ya Selous strikes the perfect balance between comfort and adventure.

The camp is truly immersed in this wild environment and lies in the very heart of the Nyerere National Park (formerly known as the Selous Game Reserve). Nyerere is renowned for the diversity of its safari activities. Accompanied by expert guides, choose between game drives, boat safaris and walking safaris each morning and afternoon, showcasing the incredible beauty of this reserve and all its flora and fauna.

There is rarely ever a dull moment on safari here. From elephants swimming across rivers, a pride of lions with cubs play-fighting in the grass, the thrill of encountering wildlife on foot, or a hippo emerging just a few metres away from your boat, you'll see why a safari here is so memorable.

Each of the 8 tents at Roho ya Selous are tucked away in the trees and set far apart for privacy. Stylish and spacious, the tents feature thoughtful details such as an evening breeze cooling system over the bed, and a beautiful wall hanging separating an en-suite bathroom with indoor and outdoor showers. The veranda is the perfect spot to unwind during the heat of the day and watch a variety game pass through camp. It’s not uncommon to spot a giraffe wandering nearby on its way to the water.

In addition, there is also a family tent that is spacious enough to accommodate a family of 5. The main bedroom is a more compact version of a double tent, whilst the children's room has a shower and basin, plus a bunk bed and single bed.

The open-sided main guest area under stretched canvas offers plenty of shade and catches the breeze whichever way the wind is blowing. In the evenings enjoy a delicious dinner surrounded by the night-time sounds of the bush and share stories of your day’s adventures with fellow guests.
