Ndutu Under Canvas

The Serengeti

Ndutu Under Canvas Location Map

Each year, literally thousands upon thousands of wildebeest, zebra and gazelles trek across the vast Serengeti plains towards Kenya’s Masai Mara, in search of new grazing grass. It is estimated that just over 2 million animals in total make this migration from one country to another and back again - a round journey of just under 2,000 miles.

Ndutu Under Canvas is located in the southern Serengeti Plains, and is only open from December to March. During this time, the wildebeest congregate together in this area to feed on the nutritious grassy plains. About half a million calves are born over just a short 2-3 week period during February. This is truly the 'start' of the Migration, and the camp offers guests the perfect opportunity to be located as close as possible to the 'action'.

This luxurious tented camp enables guests to not only be within reach of the Great Migration but also to explore remote, beautiful corners of the Serengeti with excellent resident game.

With just 10 tents, guests can enjoy the exclusivity of absolute comfort combined with the authenticity of nights spent in the African bush - an extraordinary experience for all nature lovers.

All the tents either have large kingsize beds or twin beds, and each has an en-suite bathroom with a shower, hand basis and flush toilet.

Lighting is supplied by solar power.
