Bwindi Impenetrable Forest

Mahogany Springs is situated in one of the most intimate, secluded, beautiful and most importantly natural settings in the world and only around 2 minutes away from the Gorilla tracking starting point. Guests can track the gorillas on foot through the forest, and when you find them, you are allowed to stay with them for about an hour, watching them interact in their own environment.
The gorillas have also been to know to the visit the lodge, but wherever you encounter them, coming face to face with one of these peaceful creatures is an indescribable experience.
With more bird species per square kilometre than anywhere else in the world, Bwindi is also often described as a bird watchers paradise and the fact that Mahogany Springs is set back on an open piece of land by the river ensures the lodge has many rare species visiting every day.
Other activities that guests can indulge in include various nature walks in the forest to the see waterfalls and other marvels, or a visit to the local Batwa pigmy tribe. Or you can offset some of the carbon you have used on your trip by planting a tree or shrub within the grounds.
All the suites have their own private terrace with magnificent panoramic views over the grounds, river and surrounding areas. There are 8 Superior Bandas/Suites, two Honeymoon Suites (which have a jacuzzi bathtub as an added luxury touch), and a Presidential/Family Suite, which has 2 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, and a private lounge area.
One of the main features of the main lodge is the huge panoramic terrace that stretches around the front of the building and provides a balance between the sounds of the river and the views of the forest - a perfect location for a leisurely breakfast or evening dinner accompanied by the pure sounds of nature.
