La Cotte Farm

La Cotte Farm is uniquely situated within walking distance from the charming village of Franschhoek. It offers close proximity to the fun and bustle of the main street with all the quiet, privacy and rural charm of a working wine farm. The farm dates back to 1698 when the first of the 11 Huguenot Farms was granted to the French immigrants who fled their native country during the 17th century.

The deep veranda with its wicker chairs and generously padded cushions allows for a memorable dining experience with a delicious farm breakfast on offer or a lazy lunch while gazing across the valley over the village of Franschhoek.

The self-catering Orchard Cottages, with their unique position, complete privacy and well-appointed interiors, really are the perfect base for exploring the charming valley of Franschhoek. The various self-catering cottages, sleeping 2 to 6 guests each, are perfectly situated on the outskirts of the village. Each has its own private pool and veranda looking out over glorious gardens towards the most spectacular views of the valley.

Nine Forest Cottages are also self-catering, and sleep 2 to 4 people. These lavishly simple cottages offer incredible views over the forest, vineyards and valleys.

The Manor house is a lovingly restored Cape Dutch homestead resting under ancient oak trees and surrounded by acres of spectacular gardens. The elegantly proportioned guest bedrooms have high ceilings, French doors and private terraces, or the 2 bedroom Pool House has its own kitchen, living room and private veranda. The classic bathrooms have black and white marble floors, free-standing baths and generous walk-in showers.

The Private Villa enjoys 360-degree views of Franschhoek’s vineyard-studded valley and mountains and can sleep up to 10 people in 4 bedrooms.

General Information For Guests

The Manor Hose at La Cotte Farm is a lovingly restored Cape Dutch homestead with 8 guest rooms that have either pool or mountain views, and a seperate two-bedroom Pool House with its own kitchen, living room and private veranda.

The 10 self-catering Orchard cottages, sleeping 2 - 6 guests each, are perfectly situated on the outskirts of the village. Each has its own private pool and veranda looking out over glorious gardens towards spectacular views of the Valley,

The 6 one-bedroom cottages have a kitchenette that is equipped with a kettle, Nespresso machine microwave and an under-counter fridge. There is Air Conditioning in in the rooms, cable TV, a full Bathroom with Africology Amenities and underfloor heating, and a private splash pool. 

The 2 two-bedroom and three bedroom cottages have similar features to the one-bedroom cottages, only with additional bedrooms and a fully fitted kitchen instead of a kitchenette.

Whilst the cottages are self-catering, there is a restaurant at La Cotte Farm. 

The restaurant is open daily for breakfast from 09:000 to 11:00, and lunch from 12:00 until 16:00 (the kitchen closes at 15:00).

The breakfast choices cover a range of healthy options and traditional cooked favoiurites, and the lunch menus reflect a time when Far East trade routes influenced the Cape Dutch cuisine. Trout with ginger and garlic glaze as well as heartier fare such as Pork Belly with crackling with sauerkraut and apple mustard are typical example, and the signature garden salad is harvested from the garden at Cotte Farm.
