Laikipia Camp is a small luxurious tented camp, nestled at the foot of indigenous forest overlooking a waterhole, in the centre of the Ol Pejeta Conservancy.
The Ol Pejeta Conservancy is 90,000 acres of wilderness and offers an incredibly uncrowded environment to enjoy quality game viewing. The Conservancy is home to Kenya's largest population of black rhino, large numbers of elephant, cheetah, lion, leopard and plentiful plains game. There are also a number of rarer species such as Grevys zebra, Jacksons hartebeest and Beisa oryx.
The Conservancy lies on the equator and affords wonderful views of Mount Kenya.
The camp offers a full selection of game viewing activities including day game drives and night game drives (which focus on nocturnal species not seen on regular day drives).
In addition, the Wildlife Educational Centre is interesting for both children and adults alike, and the Chimpanzee Sanctuary for orphaned chimps is an excellent venue to observe and learn about the perils facing chimpanzees in the wild.
The camp consists of 6 luxurious tents. The tents are custom designed with en-suite bathrooms equipped with a dresser, flushing toilet and hot showers. In addition, the family suite has 2 separate bedrooms (double and twin/triple) with en-suite bathrooms. The bedrooms are connected by a lounge furnished with a sofa and small table enabling private dining.
There are comfortable chairs on each verandah overlooking the waterhole.
There is a spacious well furnished lounge and dining tent, although guests will also dine 'alfresco' if the weather permits.
