Kalahari Desert Camp Location Map

Kalahari Desert Camp is situated on the north-eastern side of the Central Kalahari Game Reserve in a private wildlife reserve of some 15, 000 hectares. It is a small, intimate camp, catering for just 12 guests, offering privacy and an exclusive experience of this wonderful landscape.

Guests are offered a full spectrum of activities including day drives, night drives and bush walks with an experienced guide and tracker. Due to the proximity to the entrance gate of the Central Kalahari Game Reserve (CKGR), guests can also enjoy both full day trips into the CKGR as well as overnight camping trip. Literally the best of both worlds – an exclusive reserve combined with the magic of the CKGR.

Different areas of Botswana have unique cultural identity.

Kalahari Desert Camp by virtue of its location offers a cultural interaction with the Herero tribe who own cattle posts just outside the boundaries of the concession.

Visitors get to experience the Herero herds women milking their cows and learn their way of living including the preparation of traditional yogurt, singing and dancing traditional songs.

Accommodation is in 6 large meru tents, elevated on platforms. Each tent is tastefully furnished with either twin or double bed configurations, a relaxation area and en-suite bathrooms with al fresco showers.

A well-appointed dining area, lounge, swimming pool and viewing deck overlook an active waterhole.

The camp is only a 45 minute flight from Maun.
