Chapter House Boutique Hotel

The Cape Winelands

Chapter House Boutique Hotel Location Map

Chapter House Boutique Hotel is set in the heart of the Franschhoek village. Built as a mission station in 1888, and later serving as the village school right up until 1974, this house has chapters filled with stories to tell. A stay here offers old-time chic and a touch of colonial splendour, combined with warm, personalised service.

The public areas of the hotel benefit from enormous attention to detail, including bespoke art pieces from local artists, and handpicked furniture and fabrics. The lounge boasts exceptionally high ceilings and a striking original fireplace. The reception area leads into a bar and terrace overlooking the pool to one side, and the beautifully panelled breakfast room to the other side, which in turn unfolds onto the original veranda leading to a glorious garden of roses, lavender and beautiful indigenous trees framed against a backdrop of the Franschhoek mountains.

There are 9 guest rooms made up of 3 categories - Classic Rooms, Deluxe Rooms and Superior Rooms.

The beautiful and spacious Classic Rooms are located above the historical Mission Hall which dates back almost 150 years. The rooms have breathtaking views of the mountains and vineyards across the Franschhoek valley, a view which has been captured in time for centuries.

The bright and airy Deluxe Rooms are all located on the ground floor and very uniquely benefit from their own little courtyard areas, where you can sit in comfort and unwind amongst the old and established trees, blossoms and foliage, and soak in the peace and tranquility of Franschhoek.

The Superior Rooms are a real pleasure and always very popular. If privacy and serenity is what you are looking for, then look no further. These delightful rooms not only benefit from unique timestamped decor, but also all boast their own private 'water space' either in the form of a private plunge pool of a jacuzzi.
