Canyon Lodge

Just 20 km from the main viewpoint of the Fish River Canyon is Canyon Lodge, an oasis seemingly in the middle of nowhere. Tall weather-beaten granite boulders mark the location of the lodge and form an integral part of the overall design.

Amongst these boulders are 30 bungalows, built out of natural rock. All are thatched and equipped with comfortable beds, mosquito nets and en-suite bathrooms. An old farmhouse, originally built in 1908, has been restored to serve as the main restaurant.

Directions For Drivers

From South Africa via Noordoewer Border Post: Take the N7 from Springbok to Vioolsdrif and onto the Noordoewer Border Post. Complete the border formalities and enter Namibia. Take the B1 northwards. After approximately 40 km, turn left onto the D316. Continue for approximately 75 km until the C10, where you turn right. After approximately 12 km, turn left onto the C37. Continue along this road for approximately 35 km and you will see signposts for Canon/Canyon Lodge.

Alternative routing is to continue along the B1 until the C10 (approximately 112 km from the border post), and turn left onto here. Follow the C10 for approximately 51 km and turn right onto the C37. Continue along this road for approximately 35 km and you will see signposts for Canon/Canyon Lodge.

General Information For Guests

All rooms have air conditioning, mosquito nets, tea/coffee making facilities, a hair dryer, an in-room safe, and a veranda.

The main lodge has a bar, restaurant, swimming pool, 24 hour security, curio shop, and secure parking.

Wi-Fi is available (additional cost) at the main Reception Area.

A laundry service is available (additional cost).

Visa and MasterCard credit cards are accepted.

There is secure parking and mobile phone connectivity.

Activities include excursions to the Fish River Canyon, hikes, sunrise walks, sundowner drives and sundowner walks. All activities are an additional cost and bookable directly with the lodge on arrival.
