Camp Hwange

Hwange National Park

Camp Hwange Location Map

Camp Hwange is situated approximately 180 km from Victoria Falls, on a private concession in the northern part of Hwange National Park. The camp is located in a perfect area, shaded on the one side by a Teak forest, the other side overlooks a large open plain and a waterhole, frequented by elephants who often share their drinking water with kudu, zebra, wildebeest and giraffe. The resident pride of lions often loiter nearby as do cheetah and wild dog, always on the look out for a quick meal.

All Camp Hwange guides have been handpicked to the highest standards. Experienced in all the disciplines of walking in the wilds of Zimbabwe, your safety being their primary concern, together you will discover the heart-stopping experience of tracking the big game on game drives, or the delight of the fascinating world of smaller animals and insects within arms reach on a bush walk, or watching the colourful display of birds with their unique calls, habits and antics.

Night game drives on the private concession can also be arranged, where you get the chance to experience what goes on in the wild after dark.

The camp has 8 chalets, all overlooking a permanent waterhole. Each spacious and airy thatched chalet is furnished with stylish simplicity, with en-suite bathroom facilities for your total comfort.

Wanting to only leave a 'green footprint', solar energy provides all the hot water and power to the camp, and building materials have been chosen to blend in with the surrounding bush.

The main lodge is made up of a big lounge and a beautiful restaurant where you will savour delicious dinners. The camp fire is the 'heart' of the camp, however, and evenings sitting around the fire are a chance to go over again with fellow guests the adventures of the day, or just to sit and gaze at the vast expanse of the star filled African sky.
