Then, you'll hit the beach and spend 4 nights on the golden shores of the Indian Ocean, complete with coconut palms and lapping waves. You'll stay in a resort with 2 swimming pools and 5 restaurants, so there should be something to keep everyone happy!

Summary Of The Itinerary

Holiday Title: October Half Term Family Fun and Adventure

Countries Visited: Kenya

Day 1

Arrive into Nairobi's Jomo Kenyatta Airport. You will be met once you disembark from the plane and assisted through Immigration (including help if required with visa application and processing), luggage collection and Customs (luggage screening). You will then be accompanied to meet up with your driver.

After introductions and a safari briefing, you will be driven down to the Masai Mara (allow between 5-6 hours) in your private safari minibus. The vehicle has sliding windows, a roof hatch and high ground clearance to optimise all round visibility for game viewing and photography.

Ilkeliani Camp has been designed to combine the old traditional safari style with a modern and fresh feel. Nestled in a river glade along the banks of the Talek River, this area is a favourite for elephants coming to drink.

Day 2

After an early breakfast, head off with your driver-guide for a full day safari game drive into the very heart of the vast herds of wildebeest and zebra. Your guide will choose a scenic spot to stop for a picnic lunch, after which the game viewing continues until it is time to return to the camp before sunset.

Day 3

Another full day of game viewing in the Masai Mara. Or maybe you would like to pre-arrange an early morning balloon safari (additional cost) to view the migrating herds from a completely different perspective?

Day 4

Today, you can either make your way to the Mara River in the hope that you may see a river crossing or you can spend the morning exploring other areas of the Reserve. Return to the lodge for lunch and maybe a siesta or a dip in the pool, before heading out again for an afternoon game drive.

Day 5

After a morning game drive and lunch back at the camp, your driver-guide will transfer you to the Mara airstrip intime to take your flight to the Kenyan coast.

Safarilink 091: Fly from Masai Mara Airstrip departing at 14:30 to Diani Airport, arriving at 17:15

You will be collected from the Ukunda airstrip and will be transferred to your beach hotel.

Fringed by swaying palm trees on one side, and the warm Indian Ocean on the other, the white beaches along Kenya's coastline are the perfect holiday beach destination. The shoreline is lined with coral reefs, making this also an ideal spot for watersport and diving enthusiasts alike.

Day 8

You will need to check out of your room this morning but you can remain at the hotel and use all the facilities until you are collected for your transfer back to the airport. Alternatively, if you have an evening flight, the hotel may be able to arrange a late check out for you (additional cost and payable directly to the hotel) subject to the availability of the room.
