If you are working to a tight budget, then this 4 night getaway option may well suit you perfectly. Staying in comfortable yet affordable accommodation just a short distance from the iconic Falls and Chobe National Park, you will still experience the magnificent Falls and meet the elephants of Chobe - but at a cost that will not break the bank.
Begin with a 2 night stay on the Zambia side of the Falls at the stylish Protea Hotel Livingstone. Inbetween viewing the Falls using the shuttle service to and from the town, you can relax around the swimming pool and enjoy a drink from the poolside bar.
Then a 60 minute drive will get you across the border into Botswana, where you will stay at Kubu Lodge, close to the border with both Zimbabwe and Zambia and overlooking the Chobe River. The entry gate to the Chobe National Park is a mere 12 km away. Enjoy morning game drives into the Chobe Park or a relaxing afternoon sunset cruise on the Chobe River itself. Or take a stroll along the lodge nature trail that meanders for 2 km through a mix of riverine and miombo woodland, and if you are lucky, you may catch a glimpse of one of the resident bushbuck or follow a troop of mongoose as they forage.
