This is a fun-filled week for a family looking for a quick escape. Over 7 nights, you will search out the Big 5 on exciting game drives as well as learning about the wildlife, wilderness and life from one of the most well known and culturally interesting cultures left in Africa - the Maasai. Then fly across to the beach where parents and teenagers alike can indulge in the range of activities found at this laidback beach hotel.
You begin with flying down to the Masai Mara and staying at Saruni Mara for 3 nights. This camp is perfect for families with older children as they offer a special interactive wildlife safari with a strong educational flavour. Under the tutelage of their ‘Moran’ or Warrior class, guests get to know, enjoy and understand these unique people and their way of life.
Learn and experience at first hand the bush skills, folklore and ancient wisdom needed to survive in one of the richest wildlife regions in Africa. Gain in depth experience in wildlife tracking following an elephant or a leopard, learn survival skills, visit an original Maasai village, learn how to use bow, arrows, pangas and spears, build a bush camp, tend goats and cattle whilst listening to Maasai stories and songs. A safari will never be the same again.
You end with 4 nights at the beach. The Sands at Nomad is nestled within 26 acres of indigenous coastal forest, which catches the cool sea breeze. Enjoy the relaxing spa retreat, take a dip in the pool, work out in the gym, join a yoga class on the dedicated yoga platform, or head to the onsite watersports center and hire a snorkel and flippers or kayak to a sand island. Surfboards, windsurfing, boogie boards and stand up paddle boards complete the watersport offering. There really is something for every family member here to take part in!

Arrive into Nairobi's Jomo Kenyatta Airport.
After you have had your passports stamped by the Immigrations Officer, proceed to the Baggage Hall to collect your luggage and then go through Customs and exit the building onto the street outside, where our representative will be waiting to meet you, holding a signboard displaying your name. He will introduce you to your driver and you will then be transferred to Wilson Airport where you will check in for your flight down to the Masai Mara National Reserve.
Safarilink 001 (Light Aircraft): Fly from Wilson Airport (WIL) departing at 10:00 to Masai Mara Airstrip, arriving at 11:00
You will be met at the airstrip and transferred to your camp. Saruni Mara is nestled in a secluded valley in the heart of the Mara North Conservancy - an exclusive and private wildlife concession bordering the world-renowned Masai Mara National Reserve. Maasai warriors guide you throughout, sharing their ancient wisdom of the area, animals and their fascinating way of life - a truly life-enriching safari experience.

After breakfast you will be transferred back to the airstrip where you will check in for your flight back to Nairobi.

You will be met and assisted with the connection to your flight across to the coast.
Safarilink 55 (Light Aircraft): Fly from Wilson Airport (WIL) departing at 14:00 to Diani Airport, arriving at 15:15
On arrival, you will be met and transferred to your beach hotel.
Situated on the glistening white shores of the stunning Diani Beach, the Sands at Nomad provides an idyllic family beach getaway. The Watersports Centre offers a variety of watersports equipment for hire. Guests are invited to rent snorkeling equipment, kayaks, skim and boogie boards, stand-up paddleboards, surfboards and windsurfing equipment. There is enough choice to keep any teenager amused for a few days!
The Kenyan Coast
You will need to check out of your room this morning but you can remain at the hotel and use all the facilities until you are collected for your transfer back to the airport. Alternatively, if you have an evening flight, the hotel may be able to arrange a late check out for you (additional cost and payable directly to the hotel) subject to the availability of the room.
