Summary Of The Route and Costs
If you love the idea of a wild and remote African safari experience yet still being cocooned in luxury, then this 12 night safari combining 3 of Tanzania's National Parks may well suit you. It is ideal for travel between mid-July and mid-October and in particular if you want the chance to see over a million wildebeest crossing the plains on their way to dodge the jaws of death in the Mara River.
After arriving into Kilimanjaro and spending the first night in Arusha, you will be fresh and ready to begin your safari adventure the next morning with a light aircraft flight to Tarangire National Park. This Park is second only to the Serengeti in its concentration of wildlife and is well known for big herds of buffalo and elephant that stand solemnly beneath the spreading branches of baobabs and prides of lazy lion sprawled in the shade of acacia scrub. With over 550 bird species too, the bush has flashes of colour from the bright reds and yellows as the colourful barbets, starlings and bee-eaters go about their daily business. Your stylish safari tent is set amongst the trees with views over the African bush.
You then have a short flight to your next destination where you will be met at the airstrip and transferred to your camp, perched high on the Ngorongoro Crater rim. The style of your camp here is as unique as the location, with everything carefully handcrafted locally to the highest standard. Big verandas wrap around the front of the rooms and the ideal place to sit and marvel at the view into the crater. The Ngorongoro Crater is one of Africa's most iconic wildlife destinations, offering outstanding volumes of wildlife - from some of Africa's last rhinos to flamingoes to lovebirds.
You then head to the far Northern Serengeti Plains. With expert guides and rugged 4x4s, you’ll head out into the plains for fantastic photographic opportunities, especially if you are lucky to see a river crossing. Thousands of wildebeest fling themselves into the flowing Mara River waters, desperate to cross from one bank to the other. Vultures and eagles lurk nearby, as well as the ever-present crocodiles who are always on the look out for an easy meal. The sheer numbers, noise and excitement, if you are lucky to witness this first hand, will stay with you for a long time to come.
Finally, you fly across to the exotic island of Zanzibar and stay in a private villa on the South-West coast. Enjoy the services of a private butler throughout the duration of your stay, meals prepared by a world class chef, and retreat to a world of divine relaxation and enchanting elegance.

Lying on the gentle rolling foothills that cascade down from the ever-present Mount Meru is the bustling and vibrant town of Arusha. It is here on the outskirts of this town, hidden amongst one of Tanzania's largest coffee plantations that you will find Arusha Coffee Lodge, a perfect haven to relax in before any African safari.
After breakfast you will check out of your room and then you will be transferred to Arusha Airport, where you will check in for your light aircraft flight to Tarangire.

The Park is especially renowned for its large herds of elephants, tree climbing lions, huge pythons, its herds of oryx which are regularly seen, and also for its rock paintings which were done by early man tens of thousands of years ago. Walking safaris in the early morning can also be arranged.

Entamanu Ngorongoro is perched high on the Ngorongoro Crater rim. Surrounded by the soaring peaks of dormant volcanic hills and the ebb and flow of Masai pastoralist life, this is a place to explore beyond the hustle and bustle of the main tourist trail at the Crater.
Ngorongoro Crater
An early start is highly recommended to enjoy your game drive into the Crater today. You will set off with your guide and a packed breakfast and return to camp in time for lunch. Or, head out in the afternoon and enjoy sundowners on the rim on your way back to camp. Whatever you choose to do, the Ngorongoro Crater is on many people's bucket list of places to see and visit. This natural wonder is the largest unflooded, intact volcanic caldera in the world. The actual crater is about 20 km across and 600 meters deep, and covers 300 sq km. Within the rim there are an estimated 30,000 animals, making this one of the densest concentration of wildlife within Africa.

Lamai Serengeti sits tucked amongst the rocks with panoramic views of the surrounding landscape, only a few miles from where the wildebeest cross the Mara River. For roughly a quarter of the year, between mid July and October, this is where you'll find the migration, right here on the doorstep. For the rest of the year, it is wild Serengeti with all the resident game of the Masai Mara but without the people.
