Children aged 6 years and older are welcome. Private vehicles are compulsory when travelling with children under 12 years. The minimum age for both mokoro and walking safaris is 12 years.
The tents are all en-suite with indoor and outdoor showers, ceiling fan, standing fan, charging station, and a safe. The tents are all elevated on wooden platforms with a small private viewing deck with armchairs and side table. Each room also has bug/insect repellent provided for guests use.
The family tents consist of one double bedroom and a separate second twin bedroom, sharing one bathroom. Families travelling with children aged 6 to 12 years are required to book private activities.
The main area consists of bar, lounge, plunge pool, orientation centre, curio shop and a fire pit.
Activities available at Splash Camp include game drives (day and night), mokoro excursions, boat cruises, walking safaris and birdwatching. The Land Cruisers used for game drives seat a maximum of 6 people per vehicle.
Fishing is also offered for 10 months of the year, but is prohibited in January and February as this is peak breeding season. Basic equipment is supplied, but avid fly fishers are advised to bring their own equipment.
As Splash Camp is in a private concession the guides are allowed to drive off road in search of sightings, and are also able to drive at night with spotlights.
A complimentary laundry service is available.
Bush Walks / Walking Safaris
Please note that the minimum age for both mokoro and walking activities is 12 years.
A guided walk can last a couple of hours and involve walking over uneven terrain that may contain dangerous wildlife in potentially high temperatures. Guests may need to move quickly and for a sustained period through rough bush terrain if instructed to do so by their guide.
Regardless of age, the final decision on whether a guest can join a guided walk remains with the guide and camp manager
