Over 12 nights, this trip will give intrepid travellers a glimpse of the hidden gems tucked away in KwaZulu-Natal. Walk in a UNESCO World Heritage site to see bushman paintings dating back thousands of years, relax on a beach, chase across the plains in search of the Big 5, and end in the saddle of a magnificent Arabian horse and experience the sights, smells, sounds and excitement of the African veld and literally become one with the environment.
You’ll begin your adventure with a few days to wander through the dramatic Drakensberg Mountains on a gentle walk or more strenuous hike, or enjoy an abundance of other activities including horse rides, fly fishing, mountain bike trails and golf.
Then it may be time for a bit of down time and relaxation and your 5* hotel just north of Durban offers hotel rooms with a private balcony and an uninterrupted view of the ocean and golden beaches.
After this, you’ll head for Big 5 territory and take a string of thrilling game drives over the hills and valleys of your beautiful reserve. Imagine close encounters with newborn cheetah cubs or being the prime witness to a daring lion fight. Your guides are highly qualified and extremely committed to the environment and look forward to taking you on a journey of discovery.
Finally, you’ll saddle up for a sensational horseback safari on the scenic plateau of the Pakamisa Mountain. Each trail ride offers incredible game viewing from the meandering plains or the challenging hilly ascents. There is nothing more exciting than riding into a herd of impala, giraffe, wildebeest and warthogs and getting close to them before they disappear back into the bush.
