Camping or Accommodated Group Tours for the Adventurous
An adventure tour will be filled with holiday highlights and memories from start to finish.
Adventure tours are for people who have a zest for life and a lust for adventure. The tours cover many African countries - South Africa, Lesotho, Swaziland, Namibia, Botswana, Zimbabwe, Mozambique, Zambia, Malawi, Tanzania, Kenya, Uganda, Rwanda, Ethopia and Madagascar.
If you have an interest in people, places and wildlife, then these tours are for you. Travelling with a group of likeminded people lets you simply enjoy your time in Africa and meet new people without the hassle of worrying about meals, accommodation or logistics. The tour groups tend to average around 18 people, from all walks of life, age and nationalities. Although there are often couples and groups of friends travelling together, most travellers are single and the male/female mix generally works out about equal.
All the adventure tours that we offer are unique and ‘off the beaten track’ and the emphasis is on the journey as well as the destination. And as this is Africa, delays and unexpected events are all part of the ‘package’ and often add to your adventure!
You have the choice of either a camping tour or an accommodated tour, and single supplements are available if you didn’t want to share with anyone else.
The tours use a modern fleet of vehicles and the guides are passionate, professional and committed to ensuring all guests have a fantastic time. We can also offer ‘Green Seats’, which offers guests the opportunity to offset their carbon footprint.
Here is just a small selection of some of the adventure tours you can join:
A 20 day/19 night camping tour, starting in Cape Town and ending in Victoria Falls. Highlights include hiking the Dune Sea in Sossusvlei, visiting a Himba tribe, and game viewing in the Etosha National Park, the Okavango Delta and Chobe.
A 8 day/7 night camping tour, starting and ending in Moshi. Climb Africa's highest mountain to the very summit.
See the best of Kenya and Tanzania on this 11 day/10 night camping tour, taking in iconic safari highlights such as the Serengeti and the Ngorongoro Crater, the Masai Mara, and Lake Nakuru and Lake Naivasha.
Accommodated tours spend the night in basic chalets, bungalows and traditional huts. Accommodation in Southern Africa is 2 people sharing per room, with an en-suite bathroom, but in East Africa bathrooms may be shared with others. In East Africa you also need to bring your own sleeping bag and towel, whereas in Southern Africa just a towel is needed.
On camping tours, nights are spent sharing 2-man large dome tents, with plenty of room for your bags, plus you are provided with a foam mattress for your comfort. You just need to bring your own sleeping bag and towel, and of course a pillow if you prefer.
