Tuludi Camp

Tuludi Camp

Khwai Private Reserve

Tuludi Camp Location Map

Set to open in July 2019, Tuludi Camp is located in the southern reaches of the Khwai Private Reserve, far from the public areas with access to over 200,000 hectares of pristine wilderness.

The floodplains around the camp are the perfect location for enormous herds of elephant and buffalo who wander amongst the grass undisturbed. Whilst the Khwai River is the main water source in the area, the waterways that wind through the grasslands attract game from far and wide, with no shortage of zebra, giraffe, antelope and other plains game.

The plains are also home to a good number of endangered wild dogs, and if you’re lucky enough to spot them it will be quite the sight to remember.

As Tuludi will be open all year round, each season differs and brings its quirks and charms. The dry season in the Okavango Delta lasts from June to October, making this the best time of year for water-based game viewing from traditional mokoros and boats, whereas the summer season brings the much-longed-for rains. Birding at this time of year is excellent as the migrant species will start to return.

No two days are ever the same, with game drives, walking safaris and fantastic water-based game viewing, you’ll discover and experience the very best of the Delta, and all it has to offer.

Tuludi has 7 tree house style tents, each 60 square metres in size with separate dressing and sleeping areas, and an en-suite bathroom with indoor and outdoor showers. Outside on the veranda there is a sunken seating area and a private plunge pool, all with views of the vast floodplains.

The main area is set on a raised deck with cushions, sofas and armchairs to relax in, perfect for an afternoon of wildlife-watching, or simply to enjoy the view. Next door is the dining area, with a firepit just in front, a tree house library and there is also a large swimming pool to cool off in the heat of the day.

For those looking for a unique way to spend time in the bush, why not spend the night in one of the 3 fabulous Skybeds, deep within the reserve.  Each “room” is actually a 3-storey raised platform, which overlooks a waterhole. Charmingly rustic yet perfectly stylish, you’ll find a bathroom on the first floor, and on the top floor there is an enormous double bed, draped in white linens and a feather duvet, all completely open to the stars.
