Heaven Restaurant, next to The Retreat, is known as a hospitality training facility and cultural venue serving a unique modern African menu and has trained over 1,000 Rwandans in culinary and customer service skills and continues to train interns and others with a passion to build a career in hospitality. It is known for their famous guacamole and signature Cassava Leaf Beef Filet and also for their incredible homemade cocktails.
For guests staying longer, the hotel can arrange a Kigali City Tour which is designed to give you an intimate view of Kigali on an entertaining packed day. These curated tours are customised according the the specific interests of each client and the day is planned around a blend of Rwandan arts, history, food and culture. A sample day might include a drive through the old neighborhood of Nyamirambo, tour a local market, stop by a milk bar, taste of Rwandan coffee, and a visit to an art gallery or fashion designer. The tour costs includes a local Rwandan traditional lunch and banana wine making demonstration at Heaven Restaurant, and often each tour ends with a visit to the Genocide Memorial.
