Setari Camp

Setari Camp

Okavango Delta

Setari Camp Location Map

Setari Camp is located on a picture-perfect palm island in the very heart of the Okavango. Situated within a private concession of 120,000 acres of unspoilt wilderness, exclusivity and seclusion are guaranteed. Setari, meaning ‘tree’ in Setswana, has been lovingly designed to integrate the giant riverine forest and palms trees which dominate the island.

The area is a birder’s paradise, boasting a huge number of migrant birds, aquatic birds, raptors, a seasonal heronry and to top it all, the hauntingly beautiful Pel’s Fishing Owl. To add to this, the island is also home to the rare and regal Sitatunga antelope as well as bushbuck, a resident leopard, hippo, baboons and a lone hyena.

Setari is the perfect place from which to immerse yourself in an extraordinary wilderness. With year round water surrounding the island, and activities ranging from bush walks, boating or gliding gently through the waterways in a traditional mokoro (dug-out canoe) this camp offers the ultimate Okavango experience.

The camp resembles an enormous tree-house where the entire construction is elevated with wooden walkways linking the impressive sitting and dining areas, pool-with-a-view, gym and curio shop.

The 8 guest tents are elevated on stilts and are also linked via wooden walkways. Each tent has a private deck with superb views from which to watch the sunset.  The tents also all have an outside shower-with-a-view as well as a shower and a bath in the en-suite bathroom.

There is also one family tent, which comprises of 2 standard tents situated together sharing a massive deck, which is ideal for private dining al fresco! There is access between the 2 tents via an interleading door in the outside showers to ensure safety for younger children.

Delicious home-cooked food and superb guiding all combine to making Setari a hidden treasure in the iconic Okavango Delta.
