Lower Zambezi National Park

Royal Zambezi Lodge Location Map

Royal Zambezi Lodge is an intimate family-owned property situated on the banks of the mighty Zambezi River in Zambia, on the edge of the unique Lower Zambezi National Park and directly opposite Mana Pools. The lodge is surrounded by a game management area which offers fantastic game viewing in open woodland, grassy floodplains and riverine forest. The Lower Zambezi National Park, only a 5 minutes drive away, is home to huge herds of elephants and buffalo, and offers frequent and reliable lion and leopard sightings.

Morning and afternoon game drives in open vehicles offers all-around views, and this elevated viewpoint helps considerably when searching far afield for wildlife.

One of the best ways to experience the true beauty of the river and get up close to animals on the river banks is on a canoe trip. There are few things more relaxing than drifting gently down the river in a canoe. Whether you are exploring the water-hyacinth studded channels, getting up close to elephant, buffalo and hippo, or bird watching, this is truly one of the best ways to experience the Zambezi. Fishing on the Lower Zambezi is another activity on offer here - this is one of the most exceptional freshwater angling experiences in the world, the highlight being the presence of the world's premier game fish, the Tiger Fish. A cruise in one of the outboard powered boats will also be a rewarding experience any time from early morning to evening

The 8 Deluxe Suites offer the perfect combination of contemporary comfort and understated elegance. The airy canopied canvas and thatched tents nestle under mature trees, and each positioned for maximum enjoyment of the surrounding views and complete privacy. Each suite provides a private plunge pool in which to cool down while overlooking the mighty Zambezi River. The 7 Presidential and Honeymoon Suites epitomise the luxury safari experience. With outside showers, copper baths, private plunge pools, shaded day-beds, the suites provide the ultimate in opulence while allowing guests to immerse themselves in the surrounding wilderness.

Guests arrive at Royal Airstrip, which is a 1.7 km tarred airstrip and only a 5 to 10 minute drive from the lodge. This can often be the start of your game viewing as it is common to meet a baboon, impala or elephant en-route to the lodge, giving you a unique welcome to the Lower Zambezi.
