The Garden Route
Located a 30 minute drive from George Airport and right in the heart of the malaria-free Garden Route, the Nyaru Game Lodge caters to guests who want to see the beauty and natural wonders of South Africa from a first hand point of view. The lodge is also a great destination spot for guests on their way to or from Cape Town, which is just 3 hours away.
Guests staying at the lodge can enjoy 4x4 game drives, led by an experienced guide, which will introduce you to 17 different species of game and wildlife including giraffe, rhino, zebra, sable, the rare black impala and much more. Game drives will take 1 ½ hours depending on how much time is spent at each sighting.
Alternatively, saddle up for a horseback safari and escape to the valleys and beautiful fynbos and experience nature like never before. Ride next to giraffe or zebra across plains, track rhino and blue wildebeest and watch the wildlife in action. Nyaru Game Lodge offers an early morning horseback safari day tour or late afternoon, and a slow walk across the plains or cantering at full throttle is at the guest's discretion. No experience is necessary.

The thatched chalet accommodation is right in the middle of the reserve, where romantic ostrich egg lamps and candles create that real bush camp atmosphere. Private patios with mountain or pool views are featured in all chalets. Each chalet is decorated with rich fabrics and follows a African flavour that is clean, simple and elegant with attention to detail.
Traditional South African barbecue facilities are available in all chalets. Order a 3-course dinner braai (BBQ) from the lodge, or enjoy a three course dinner at the lodge's restaurant while listening to the Clicking Stream Frogs before retiring in your chalet under the African sky.
