Maliba Mountain Lodge

Maliba Mountain Lodge is located in the tiny mountain kingdom of Lesotho which itself is totally surrounded by South Africa. Roughly the size of Belgium or the US state of Maryland, the prominent Maluti mountain range that runs through the country at about 1,000m above sea level gives Lesotho its other name - the "Kingdom in the Sky".

The lodge can experience snow in winter while in summer it offers a cooler mountain lodge retreat from the heat of the plains.

With hiking and horse riding trails, cultural experiences, pristine mountain air and clean safe streams this is an ideal venue for both the energetic and those that simply want to recharge their batteries.

The main lodge features a gourmet restaurant, bar and plenty of quite discrete areas to relax, with views of mountains brushed with snow. Outside, there is a large curved hardwood wooden deck with sun loungers, an undercover furnished veranda, an octagonal fire pit deck nestled in the tree tops, an indigenous high altitude botanical garden, a waterfall and a natural rock swimming pool.

Maliba Mountain Lodge offers accommodation to suit a range of tastes and budgets, from the exclusive and private 5* mountain chalets to the self-contained river lodges which hold larger groups up to 8 in each.

The 6 spacious mountain chalets are each tastefully decorated with natural earthy tones, with an open fireplace that sets the evening mood for a romantic discussion of the day's events. A private viewing deck, nestled in the trees provides guests with a completely unique way to touch the heart of the Lesotho Mountains, losing oneself in the charm of the peaceful surroundings.

The 4 self-catering modern, thatched river lodges each contain 4 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms and are fully serviced.
