Laikipia Plateau
Your dream luxury getaway retreat awaits you in Kenya at Loisaba Lodge. The private 61,000 acre wilderness is outstandingly beautiful, the abundant wildlife is truly wild and the accommodation is comfortable beyond measure.
One of the best ways to view the wildlife at Loisaba is on a game drive. Whether you go early in the morning or late afternoon, you own informative guide will take you in an open vehicle across the open plains, through the bush or along the river bank viewing the wide variety of game, birds, plants and trees.
For the spirited adventurer, Loisaba Lodge is equipped with mountain bikes, which offer a unique way to explore some of the varied terrain and stunning flora and fauna, or go on a bush walk, accompanied by traditional Samburu guides whose knowledge of local flora, fauna, cultural and history is unmatched.
For another exhilarating experience spend an afternoon rafting sections of the Ewaso Ngiro and Ng'are Narok rivers, or horse-riding across the plains alongside herds of zebra, or even camel trekking.
For a unique cultural experience, spend an afternoon down at the traditional Masai village - a great experience see how the Masai live, watch them dance and view some of their beadwork.
The main lodge area is perched high on the edge of the plateau looking south towards Mount Kenya. There is a swimming pool, tennis court, bocce court and croquet lawn.
Each of the 7 en-suite rooms has large French windows that open onto a private deck cantilevered off the escarpment. The views are legendary, and a water hole a few hundred feet below draws continuous wildlife.
You also have the unique opportunity to try a night under the unspoilt Kenyan stars on one of the unique Star Beds.
The spa offers massage and beauty treatment and a romantic open-air bubble bath, all with a tranquil view of the unspoilt Karissia Hills.
