Kibo Safari Camp is a tented camp based just outside the Amboseli National Park, set at the foot of Mount Kilimanjaro, the highest mountain in Africa. Situated 140 kilometers south of Nairobi, Amboseli National Park is the second most popular National Park in Kenya. Amboseli is famous for being one of the best places in Africa to get close to elephants. The Park is also home to zebras, Thomson's and Grants gazelles, buffalo, warthog, Masai giraffe, impala, water buck and dik-dik. Baboons and vervet monkeys inhabit the scarce woodlands. Carnivores are represented by lions, spotted hyenas, wild cats, jackals, caracals and cheetahs. With regards to birds, more than 400 species of birds have been registered,
Kibo Safari Camp has 73 self contained en-suite tents, including family tents and triple tents. The beds have been custom designed, locally made using bush logs. And with the African rustic furniture, mosquito nets, clothes rack, carpet and writing desk, it will be a home away from home.
The camp incorporates an open terraced restaurant and bar under acacia trees overlooking the majestic Mount Kilimanjaro. Guests can also enjoy a cold swim in the swimming pool beautifully designed and set against the backdrop of the mountain. This is also an ideal location to watch the sun set as you relax and enjoy a sundowner drink.
