Frans Indongo Lodge is located north-east of Otjiwarongo and north-west of Waterberg Mountain, making it ideally suited as a stop-over on your way from Windhoek to Etosha, the far north, or the Caprivi.
The 170 km² farm boasts an extraordinary abundance of game, including White and Black Rhino, Black Wildebeest and Hartebeest.
There is more wildlife nearby at the Cheetah Conservation Fund where visitors can learn more about these magnificent animals, and the Rare and Endangered Species Trust works for the protection of Namibia's last Cape Vultures and attracts hundreds of vultures to their feeding site each day.
Guests can go game-viewing on sundowner drives, and there are walking trails which meander through the bush savannah and lead onto a hill with a magnificent look-out point.
Set in the lush gardens, the swiming pool offers the chance of a refreshing dip and as the sun starts to set guests are invited to retreat to the large wooden veranda at the bar or the little observation tower for a pre-dinner drink. Both are fabulous places for savouring the enchanting hour of dusk - and keeping an eye on the watering place which is illuminated at night. The rare Nyala, Black Springbok and White Blesbok, Sable and Roan Antelope regularly put in an appearance.
The gourmet kitchen specialises in venison dishes served with farm-fresh vegetables and salads seasoned with aromatic ingredients from the herb garden.
The lodge is modelled on traditional Ovambo homesteads, with palisades of tall pointed stakes embracing the lodge and conveying a feeling of the warmth and security of home right in the middle of the African bush. Inside the complex, a palisade separates the restaurant and swimming pool area from the guest chalets and thereby provides more privacy.
The character of the lodge is complemented by the interior decoration and colour scheme of the 2 double rooms, 2 Family units and 8 generously proportioned chalets.
All the rooms have their own bathroom, air-conditioner, fridge, hairdryer, telephone, TV and an electric kettle for tea and coffee.
