Duba Explorers Camp

Okavango Delta

Duba Explorers Camp Location Map

Duba Explorers Camp is tucked away in the northeast corner of the Duba Plains concession, a 77,000 acre private reserve in the Okavango Delta. Due to its location at the northern reaches of the Delta, the surroundings are dominated by permanent floodplains, interspersed with grasslands and pockets of mopane and acacia woodlands.

Guests can enjoy regular sightings of a diverse range of species, including lechwe, kudu, tsessebe and giraffe. Herds of elephants and buffalo move around the camp and hippo trudge through the swamps creating their own channels and paths. Lions, leopards and even African wild (painted) dogs are spotted regularly.

Step into the shoes of the early adventurers and explore the water channels by boat or traditional canoes (mokoro). Meander through channels as you to glide silently through the waterways and experience an undisturbed water world around you.

Game drives in this paradise allow for exciting encounters with the resident predators, or explore the islands wetlands and plains on a guided walk, following the tracks and interpreting the signs of the wild. You might even be lucky enough to get a glimpse of a rare sitatunga or an elusive leopard. With over 400 bird species, birding here is unsurpassed, with spectacular species like the malachite kingfisher zipping past you in a burst of colour.

The camp consists of 5 tents each with views of the surrounding floodplains. Each tent has a small desk and a private verandah. Fans and an open-air design maintain a comfortable climate during the day and night. Each tent also includes one pair of Swarovski HD binoculars for complimentary use.

The main area is set under a sweeping marquee canvas on raised decking and consists of an open-concept dining and lounge area.
