Children aged 10 years and older are welcome. Children are allowed on game drives with their parents.
Children up to the age of 15 are accommodated on luxury stretchers in their parents’ suite (maximum of two children per suite). Toys, board games and special menus are available on request.
Parents are requested to ensure that their children’s participation in no way detracts from the experience of other guests. Because of the proximity of large numbers of wild and potentially dangerous animals, unruly or disruptive behaviour not only negatively affects the quality of game viewing for others, it can also seriously compromise guest safety.
Children accommodated at Gorah are at all times the sole responsibility of their parents. ::

Game drives at Gorah, expertly led by passionate and professional guides, are a testament to the safari of old. Intrepidly searching the vast terrain for animals in their natural habitat is the essence of the experience. Addo Elephant National Park, home to the densest population of elephants on earth, allows guests the privilege of being up close to these majestic animals, taking in their incredible stature and grace and witnessing the social family interactions between the various herds.
Guided walks can also be arranged. While it is not a strenuous or long walk, it gives you the opportunity to see more intricate fauna and flora that forms part of the ecosystem on foot. The qualified guides will lead you through this experience, interpreting the surroundings with their wealth of knowledge adding to your memories of Gorah.
Please note that Gorah does not run on electricity but solar and generator power.
Bush Walks / Walking Safaris
Children under the age of 16 years are not permitted on guided walks in the reserve. Guests over 70 years old wishing to join a guided walk are required to have a letter or certificate from their doctor confirming they are in good health and are physically fit to do the walk. A guided walk can last a couple of hours and involve walking over uneven terrain that may contain dangerous wildlife in potentially high temperatures. Guests may need to move quickly and for a sustained period through rough bush terrain if instructed to do so by their guide.
Regardless of age or the provision of a doctors certificate, the final decision on whether a guest can join a guided walk remains with the guide and lodge manager.
