Most of our team work as travel consultants, helping clients to plan and book their holiday-of-a-lifetime. The job profile below will give you an idea of what is involved in the role and the types of skills we are generally looking for.
The Travel Consultant Role At Travel Butlers
This is a full-time sales and travel advisory position dealing with customers and involves:
- Dealing with clients and suppliers over the phone, email, and face-to-face.
- Preparing tailor-made itineraries for clients from the UK and around the world, as well as providing general travel advice.
- Checking availability and placing bookings with accommodation and transport providers.
- Managing all aspects of Travel Butlers relationship with your clients including sales, collection of monies, dispatch of travel documents, and resolving such issues as may arise from time to time.
- Participation in the Out of Hours Emergency Phone rota.
- Updating the Travel Butlers database and website as needed.
The skills and experience we look for in a candidate include:
- Excellent knowledge of travel to Southern and East Africa, including at least one of South Africa, Botswana, Kenya or Tanzania.
- A proven track record in selling holidays and safaris to Africa.
- A clear and professional communication style, with good telephone and written skills.
- Good organisation, time management and prioritisation skills, attention to detail, the ability to work both independently and as part of a team when required.
- Good numeracy and computer skills.
