3 day Package on Amakhala Game Reserve

Stay 3 nights at any of the lodges on the malaria-free 7,000 hectare Big 5 Amakhala Game Reserve, just 40 minutes drive from Port Elizabeth, and your stay will include an early morning game drive into the Addo Elephant National Park as well as visit to the Shamwari Born Free Centre.

Valid for travel between 1 August 2009 and 31 December 2010. This package MUST be requested at the time of booking. The itinerary may differ slightly depending on the lodge. For a 3 night stay at any lodge APART FROM Amakhala Safari Lodge, there is an additional cost to book this package of R720 per person per stay - this is to cover the entrance fees into the Addo Elephant National Park and Shamwari Born Free Centre. This cost will be payable directly to the lodge when you arrive. However, should this offer be used in conjunction with the Stay for 3 nights, Only Pay for 2 nights OR the Stay for 4 nights, Only Pay for 3 nights Special Offers also being run at the same time, then the additional cost of R720 per person is applicable to stays at ALL lodges.

Amakhala Safari Lodge

Amakhala Safari Lodge is hidden in a valley in the indigenous bushveld of the 7,200 hectare Big 5 Amakhala Game Reserve, just 40 minutes drive from Port Elizabeth. This beautifully designed lodge offers all the style and romance of a top safari lodge along with excellent game viewing and outstanding food and warm hospitality.

The reserve is divided by the N2 main highway, and the smaller section is home to the lions, who roam freely and enjoy a natural hunting habitat. The morning and evening game drives by experienced rangers through both sections of the Amakhala Game Reserve in search of rhino, lion, elephant, cheetah, buffalo, giraffe, black wildebeest, zebra, and over 16 antelope species will also leave you in awe of the spectacular scenery which abounds here.

The resident chef will treat you with gastronomic delights presented with African flair to end off the perfect day.

African tribal design has inspired the creation of this intimate thatched lodge and its 11 stylish air-conditioned suites with tented fronts, which open out onto your private deck with its own plunge pool. The rooms also have a small separate lounge area.

You can soak away the heat in a luxurious double bath with the sights and sounds of nature, or splash off the dust in a double outdoor shower. Coupled with the large beds draped with mosquito nets, this lodge is a favourite for honeymooners and the romantic at heart.
