From Cape Town by Road

The total distance from Cape Town to Port Elizabeth is about 750 km, and the Shamwari Game Reserve is then about an hours drive further from Port Elizabeth (plus you should allow a further 45 minutes if you are going to Bayethe Lodge, Lobengula or Eagles Crag), so we certainly don't recommend trying to drive this in a day.

Most visitors take a couple of days to drive along the Garden Route - the Garden Route is beautiful, and it is definitely a worthwhile addition to any holiday itinerary. If you would like a quote for a hire car, please do let us know and we will be happy to arrange this for you.

Scheduled Flight from Cape Town

If time is precious, you can fly between Cape Town and Port Elizabeth, which takes just over an hour.

When you land at Port Elizabeth Airport, you can then either hire a car from the airport, or else we can arrange a road transfer from the airport to the lodge for you - rates on request.
