From Johannesburg by Road

You can fly daily from Johannesburg International Airport (or the O.R. Tambo as it is now known as) directly to the Madikwe Game Reserve. The service is run by Federal Air, and you are met at the airport by one of their professional Guest Relations team, and transferred to FedAir's private first class lounge where you can relax before boarding your flight to the reserve.There are 2 flights that depart daily - the first at 10.30 am and again at 1.30 pm, and each flight takes about an hour. The costs are R1,572 per adult one way plus R100 passenger administration fee per adult to enter Madikwe by air. Children aged between 2 years and up to and including 12 years are charged at R1,272 per child one way, plus R40 administration fee to enter Madikwe by air. From 1st January 2009, the rates increase to R1,677 per adult one way plus R100 passenger administration fee per adult to enter Madikwe by air, and children aged between 2 years and up to and including 12 years will be charged R1,353 per child one way, plus R40 administration fee to enter Madikwe by air. Please note that these rates are inclusive of a R220 fuel surcharge and a R47 ACSA Passenger Service Charge per person / child, and are subject to change.
Upon landing in the reserve, you are met and transferred to the lodge by Land Rover.
There is, however, a baggage restriction of 20 kg per person, and you have to have a 'soft' bag (for easy storage in the plane), but you can leave any excess baggage safely at FedAir's office at Johannesburg Airport, which you can then pick up when you return.
The return flights back to Johannesburg depart Madikwe at midday and 3 pm, and from 1st June 2008 costs R1,525 per adult, and children aged between 2 years and up to and including 12 years are charged at R1,225 per child one way. From 1st January 2009, the rates increase to R1,630 per adult, and children aged between 2 years and up to and including 12 years will be charged R1,306 per child. Please note that these rates are inclusive of a R220 fuel surcharge per person, and are subject to change.
From Cape Town
There are several scheduled flights a day that go from Cape Town to Johannesburg, which take just over 2 hours - prices start from approximately R800 per person one way. You can then either choose to travel by road or take the FedAir shuttle.From Sun City
It is about a 2 hour drive from here to the Madikwe Reserve.
